Yes. Settlement documentation is part of the practice. We review the terms that need to be recorded and the issues they are intended to resolve.

Higher-value IP suits are heard by the Intellectual Property Division of the Delhi High Court, set up in 2021. Lower-value suits go to the commercial courts in Delhi's district courts.

Usually. IP disputes are commercial disputes, so Section 12A of the Commercial Courts Act, 2015 requires pre-institution mediation unless urgent interim relief is sought. Many infringement suits do seek urgent relief.
